An alternative to gel for your eyebrows
Instead of using gel for your eyebrows, this blogger recommends applying some ordinary hairspray. Spray some onto a special eyebrow comb, or use an old mascara brush. Smooth out your eyebrows right after using the spray.
Whitening your nails
Your fingernails can take on a yellowish tint if you use lots of different dark polish colors. To make them look clean and white again, soak a cotton wool pad in lemon juice, wrap it around your nail, and then cover it with foil. Keep it like this for 10-15 minutes, then remove. The details are here.
Remembering when to use a product by
Most of the time companies use this symbol to indicate how long you can use a beauty product after it’s been opened. So that you don’t forget when exactly this will be, write the date on the bottle using a marker immediately after opening it for the first time.
Emergency help for a broken nail
An ordinary tea bag will help you cope with that catastrophe known as a broken nail. Remove the tea leaves from the bag, and cut off a piece to fit your nail. Stick it on the spot where your nail has broken, and cut off any excess that goes beyond the length of your nail. Now use a nail file to shape, and then cover with a base coat of polish.
Eye drops for dry mascara
To bring dry mascara back to life, this blogger recommends using eye drops or contact lens fluid. Add a few drops to the mascara tube, close it, and shake a few times. Now it should be as good as new.
Cleaning hair straighteners and curlers
To clean your hair straighteners or hair curlers, mix together some baking soda with hydrogen peroxide, and wipe it along the surface using a soft tissue. Then wipe one more time with a completely dry tissue, as shown here.

A plate for washing your brushes
To wash your various makeup brushes faster and more efficiently, create a special plate for them. Take an ordinary single-use plastic or paper plate, and make random shapes on its surface using hot glue. When the glue has dried, mix together some water and shampoo, and rub your brushes against the plate until the water running from them turns clear. Finally, rinse the brush in some clean water.
One trick for dried-out eyeliner
If your eyeliner pen has dried out, just remove the brush head and turn it round, as shown here. You can use the other end, and it will feel as good as new.

As the cold weather sets in, the problem of getting static in your hair becomes more and more acute. To get rid of static and smooth out your hair, just use ordinary dryer sheets. Pass them through the full length of your hair. Find the instructions here.
One great trick for lipstick
This blogger offers some useful advice for using lipstick. After applying it to your lips, suck your finger for a moment. This will leave any excess lipstick on your finger and not on your lips, and that way it won’t end up on your teeth. Now use highlighter along the contours of your lips to make them stand out more.
